Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Wale Oyedeji as a non executive director with effect from Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Mr Oyedeji has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan, a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University of London and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and is also an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

He has over twenty-five years of banking experience across corporate banking, treasury, and commercial banking.An alumnus of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School, Mr Wale Oyedeji, has been appointed to the board of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc.

Mr Oyedeji is joining the board of the financial institution as an independent non-executive director following the receipt of all required regulatory approvals.

He served as Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) UK between 2008 and 2011 and was appointed to the board of GTBank in October 2011, where he served as executive director for the corporate bank group and contributed immensely to the growth of their business until his retirement in August 2018. Prior to joining GTBank in 1994, he worked with Ernst & Young, Lagos, for two years.

Stanbic IBTC chief executive Wole Adeniyi said he was excited than an experienced banker had joined the board of the financial institution. “The board is pleased to welcome Mr Wale Oyedeji to the board of the bank and will undoubtedly benefit immensely from his wealth of experience,” he said.
