In an announcement on social media website Twitter today, the Nigerian Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare stated that following a briefing from the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari instructed that the 2020 National Sports Festival set to hold from the 22nd of March 2020 to the 2nd of April 2020, be postponed indefinitely.

According to the Coronavirus tracker as provided by Johns Hopkins University in the United States, Nigeria currently has 3 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country.
